The poet Gayrat aka Sheraliyev wrote a poem called “Don’t call me illiterate, I am a lover with a higher education.” There is a great philosophy behind this.”

The singer noted that, as his mentor Tohir Mahkamov said, everyone can have talent, but it is difficult without “acceptance.” Jaloliddin considers his talent to be the grace of the Creator and the acceptance of the people.

“Once upon a time, when I was just starting out, we couldn’t find the money for a “capo” on our guitar, so we would put a pen in its place and squeeze the money with a rubber band. Even if the cord broke, we would plug it in and sing with passion. Songs like “Jononim,” which fans love, were born on those guitars with broken cords. Now there is a studio, there is any instrument you want, and all the conditions are sufficient. But the passion of those early days is gone. Now everything is for weddings, for making people play. You also abandon your best things depending on the times and people.”

“There is nothing at the peak – there is only carelessness”

Although success and popularity on stage may seem attractive from the outside, behind it lies great psychological pressure and restlessness. Jaloliddin also touched on his social media post, “Leave me alone, I want to climb to the top, I want to see what’s there.”

“There’s nothing at that top. There’s only insecurity, sleeplessness, and responsibility. You only sleep 3-4 hours a night, every day you have a promise to someone, the worry of getting to someone’s wedding. Without fun, you can’t see the money you earn, the applause of your fans, or the car you drive.”

He also admitted that when he entered the arts, the lawsuits, fines, and disputes that arose over copyrights and unauthorized use of poems took their toll on him.

Wedding fees, taxes and “tugat-tugat” in Tashkent

Jaloliddin Akhmadaliyev said that he almost never uses phonograms, except for state events in very large stadiums where it is difficult to convey sound. He also spoke about the price range of wedding services and his satisfaction with paying taxes.

“I go to wedding services for 5,000–6,000 US dollars for the city of Tashkent, and for 8,000–10,000 dollars for remote regions like Samarkand and Surkhandarya. Accordingly, we do not avoid taxes. Our license is also of the highest category, we pay annual and monthly income taxes and declarations on time. The taxes we pay go to pensions and an orphanage. I also provide my employees with salaries, which I am happy about,” the singer says.

In addition, he said that the songs sung live are especially appreciated by the people of Andijan, and he did not hide the fact that the "tugat-tugat" chants at the peak of the song at the service station in the capital weighed heavily on the artist's mood and psyche.

“I get a lot of requests for housing advertisements. Only once did a close friend ask me to advertise a housing project, and I couldn’t say no. I would quote a very high price to refuse. Even if the cadastre of that house is not published tomorrow, or the gas supply is not supplied, people will blame me, saying, “You said so.” I will never advertise things that harm human life for money. But I can cover something that is truly useful and that I like for free.”
