The Competition Development Committee has opened a case on possible violations of the law during the tender for the purchase of seismic sensors.
The Committee for Competition and Consumer Protection has initiated an investigation into a potential violation of antitrust laws in a tender for the purchase of 475 sets of seismic sensors, with a starting price of 5.7 billion soums.
The investigation was prompted by a critical social media post titled "One Address, a Common Past, and a Tender for Billions," according to the Committee for Competition and Consumer Protection.
A review of the materials provided revealed that the Republican Center for Seismic Prognostic Monitoring under the Ministry of Emergency Situations announced a tender for the purchase of seismic sensors on August 4, 2026.
Following the investigation, the Committee found evidence of non-compliance with Article 29 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Competition" by the Republican Center for Seismic Prognostic Monitoring, as well as Drilltechpro LLC and Edulab LLC. According to the agency's statement, the actions of the participants in this procurement procedure could have limited or already restricted competition.
Due to the circumstances identified, a case was initiated in accordance with the established procedure against the Republican Center for Seismic Prognostic Monitoring, Drilltechpro LLC, and Edulab LLC.
The committee stated that additional information will be made public after the completion of its review of this case.
