Tashkent Metro to Reopen Escalator at Pakhtakor Station Early

Tashkent Metro will reopen Escalator No. 3 at the Pakhtakor-Alisher Navoi station transfer ahead of schedule on 5 August 2026.

Escalator No. 3, located in the transfer corridor connecting the Alisher Navoi and Pakhtakor stations of the Tashkent Metro, is set to resume operation on August 5, 2026.

The Tashkent Metro's press office announced that the repair work concluded earlier than anticipated.

This ET-5M model escalator had been out of service since July 21, 2026, for the replacement of its drive chains, with an initial projected reopening date of August 17, 2026. The maintenance was undertaken to improve both passenger safety and the overall quality of service.

During the repair period, technicians fully replaced the drive chains on Escalator No. 3. With all required tasks finalized, the escalator is now ready to welcome passengers once more.

Tashkent Metro confirmed that the escalator will be accessible to the public starting August 5, 2026.

The company reiterated its commitment to ongoing maintenance and improvements to guarantee passengers a secure and high-standard travel experience.
