Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Tashkent Metro has announced plans to undertake maintenance work on one of its escalators connecting the Alisher Navoi and Pakhtakor stations. This essential repair period is scheduled to run from July 21 through August 17, according to information released by the metro's press service.
During this timeframe, Escalator No. 3, an ET-5M model situated specifically on the transfer route from Alisher Navoi station to Pakhtakor station, will be temporarily out of service.
The scope of the repairs involves the replacement of the escalator's drive chains. This particular unit has been in continuous operation within Vestibule No. 1 since its installation in 1984.
Officials from the metro stated that these efforts are aimed at bolstering the equipment's reliability, guaranteeing superior passenger service, and further elevating safety standards.
The Tashkent Metro extended its apologies to commuters for any temporary disruption or inconvenience that may arise due to these necessary repair activities.
