Second Slavic Caravan freight train departs Belarus for Uzbekistan

The second "Slavic Caravan" freight train has commenced its journey from Belarus to Uzbekistan, according to an announcement from Uztemiryulcontainer. The train departed from the Orsha-Vostochnaya station on August 3, 2026, traversing the Belarus–Russia–Kazakhstan–Uzbekistan corridor.

The manifest for this shipment includes a variety of goods, such as wood-processing products, food industry items, and manufactured goods with high added value. A segment of this cargo is slated for onward transit through Uzbekistan to its ultimate destinations in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. The train is projected to cover the approximately 4,000-kilometer distance in a mere seven days, thereby establishing a swift and highly effective logistics pathway for trade between Belarus and the Central Asian region.

The Belarusian Railway press service reported that the total weight of the cargo is approximately 4,000 tons. Concurrently, the project's inaugural train, which set out on July 30, has already completed nearly 2,500 kilometers of its route and is presently moving through Kazakhstan.

Officials from Belarusian Railway highlighted that this initiative opens up significant new avenues for exporters of various goods, including food, chemicals, construction materials, processed wood, and machinery. Moreover, they noted that the project expands market access to economies in Central and South Asia by utilizing Uzbekistan's strategic role as a regional transit hub.

The launch of the "Slavic Caravan" project is a direct outcome of bilateral agreements forged in Minsk during the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan on July 8–9.
