A new version of the Law "On Real Estate Agent Activity" has been adopted, establishing new requirements for real estate market specialists and the official procedure for conducting real estate activities.

**New Rules for Realtors: Law Adopted Tightening Requirements for Their Work**
Uzbekistan adopted a new version of Law No. ZRU-1163 "On Real Estate Activity" dated August 7, 2026, designed to regulate relations in the real estate services sector. The document will come into force three months after publication.
According to the new law, the State Assets Management Agency (SAMA) has been designated as the authorized government body responsible for regulating this sector.
The law introduces a number of mandatory requirements for realtors. To practice this profession, they must now complete a special training course, successfully pass a qualification exam, and obtain a relevant certificate. Professional public associations will be responsible for issuing these certificates.
Real estate organizations and agents will be able to officially operate only after being included in the Unified Register. This registry will contain publicly available information on all realtors, real estate agencies, professional public associations, and their activities.
The law defines several types of real estate services.
Furthermore, it provides for the creation of a multi-listing system by the private sector. This platform will allow for the provision of real estate services under fixed-term contracts, operating on a "single window" principle. This innovation is expected to accelerate the electronic exchange of information and significantly simplify interactions between all market participants—realtors, buyers, and sellers.
The document was published in the National Database of Legislation in the state language and will come into force on November 8, 2026.
