More than 11,000 men in Uzbekistan married older women in 1 year

In Uzbekistan, more than 11,000 men married women older than them in one year.

According to the National Statistics Committee, in 2025, out of 11,040 marriages registered in Uzbekistan, the bride was older than the groom. Tashkent led the way in the number of such marriages - 1,809 such cases were registered there.

The indicators in other regions are as follows:

* Khorezm region - 1,066;

* Kashkadarya region - 995;

* Bukhara region - 979;

* Samarkand region - 967;

* Tashkent region - 928;

* Surkhandarya region - 850;

* Republic of Karakalpakstan - 772;

* Fergana region - 715;

* Namangan region – 509;

* Andijan region – 486;

* Jizzakh region – 373;

* Navoi region – 351;

* Syrdarya region – 240.

According to the committee, a total of 92.3 thousand marriages were registered in the first half of 2026, which is 3 thousand less than in the same period of 2025. The number of divorces increased compared to the previous year. In January-June 2026, 24,815 divorces were observed. The largest number of divorces was recorded in Tashkent, and the smallest in Navoi region.
