In 2025, Uzbekistan recorded more than 11,000 marriages in which the wife was older than her husband, with the nation's capital, Tashkent, showing the highest number of such unions, as reported by the National Statistics Agency.
Official registry data, broken down by province, revealed that Tashkent city alone registered 1,809 marriages where the bride was older. Khorezm province was next with 1,066 instances, followed by Kashkadarya (995), Bukhara (979), and Samarqand (967), completing the top five regions exhibiting this marital trend.
Other provinces also officially certified thousands of comparable unions during the year.
These statistics were compiled by the National Statistics Agency from comprehensive state marriage registries finalized throughout 2025.
