Man threatens to detonate bomb on plane in US

A man has been arrested in the US for threatening to detonate a bomb on a plane. This was reported by CBS News, citing the George Bush International Airport Authority.

The incident occurred at the airport in Houston, Texas. Frontier Airlines Flight 1958 was preparing to depart from the gate for a flight to Detroit. At that moment, one of the passengers on board the plane verbally threatened to detonate a bomb.

After that, all people on board the plane were immediately evacuated. Houston Police Department officers arrived at the scene and searched the plane, but did not find anything suspicious. The suspect was detained, but no further information about his identity was released.

The airport authority said in a statement that “the airport continues to operate as usual. Travelers should contact Frontier Airlines for flight information.”

Recall that in May, a SunExpress airline plane made an emergency landing in London due to a false report of an explosive device. In April 2025, an Allegiant airliner at Florida International Airport was grounded due to a bomb threat on board. In the fall of 2024, a passenger plane from India made an emergency landing in Turkey due to a similar anonymous call.
