Hashish Hidden as Chocolate Seized in Uzbekistan
Uzbek authorities seized hashish concealed as chocolate and uncovered another drug trafficking case during nationwide security operations.
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan's State Security Service (SSS), the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and customs authorities successfully disrupted two attempts at drug trafficking as part of the nationwide "Safe and Healthy Country" operational and preventive campaign.
According to information released by the SSS, one incident involved the apprehension of a 28-year-old Urgench resident at Urgench International Airport. He was taken into custody while retrieving an international package that had been dispatched from Russia. Authorities noted that the man had a prior conviction for a drug-related offense.
