Uzbekistan Opens Over 8.6 Thousand Drug Cases in First Half of Year

Uzbekistan law enforcement authorities initiated 8,653 criminal cases and seized over 2.7 tonnes of illicit drugs during the first six months of 2026.

Uzbekistan Initiates Over 8,600 Drug-Related Criminal Cases in First Half of 2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — In the first half of 2026, Uzbekistan's law enforcement agencies opened 8,653 criminal cases concerning illegal drug trafficking, as reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs' press service.

The ministry revealed that during this six-month period, authorities confiscated 2,733 kilograms of narcotics from both criminal organizations and individuals. More than 52 kilograms of the total seized were synthetic drugs.

Additionally, law enforcement officials recovered 2.651 million units of powerful pharmaceutical drugs during their operations.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs did not provide additional information regarding the outcomes of the investigations or the identities of those implicated in the cases.
