Ferghana Region Seeks to Expand Trade Ties With Afghanistan

During a working visit to Afghanistan, Ferghana Region Governor Khayrullo Bozorov met with Afghanistan’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, Nooruddin Azizi, to explore opportunities for enhancing trade and economic cooperation. A key topic of their discussion was the potential establishment of a Ferghana Region Trade House in Kabul.

Both parties acknowledged the recent strengthening of relations between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, noting the significant development of mutual trust and the expansion of trade and economic ties between the two countries in recent years.

According to those involved in the discussions, the opening of a Ferghana Region Trade House in Kabul is expected to generate new opportunities for businesses, contribute to an increase in bilateral trade, and foster the creation of new business contacts.

The officials also focused on broadening cooperation between Ferghana region and Afghanistan in several sectors, including agriculture, the export of fruit and vegetable products, logistics, and the electrical engineering industry, among other areas.

Additionally, plans were discussed to increase the supply of various products to the Afghan market, such as food products, flour and grain, textiles and finished clothing, construction materials, and pharmaceutical products.
