Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A 3.0 magnitude earthquake struck the Kyrgyz Republic, with tremors experienced in Uzbekistan, as reported by the Republican Centre for Seismic Prognostic Monitoring under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan.
The seismic event was detected on 15 July 2026 at 11:16 AM local time. Seismologists identified the epicenter in the Batken Region of Kyrgyzstan, located at coordinates 39.89 degrees north latitude and 71.78 degrees east longitude. The earthquake originated at a depth of 5 kilometers.
In Uzbekistan, the tremors were particularly felt in the Fergana district of the Fergana Region, where the intensity was measured at 2 to 3 on the MSK-64 seismic scale. The epicenter was approximately 265 kilometers southeast of Tashkent.
This incident marks the second minor seismic activity from Kyrgyzstan that has been felt in Uzbekistan within a 24-hour timeframe, following a 3.6 magnitude tremor near Osh late on 14 July 2026, which also registered faintly in the Fergana Region. There have been no reports of damage or injuries.
