Bukhara Region and Minsk Sign Sports Cooperation Memorandum
Uzbekistan's Bukhara region and the Belarusian capital Minsk have signed a memorandum to expand cooperation in sports training, competitions, and athlete development.

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) – A memorandum of cooperation focusing on sports has been formally established between Uzbekistan's Bukhara region and Minsk, the capital city of Belarus. The signing ceremony took place in Minsk on July 29, as reported by the press service of the Minsk City Executive Committee.
This agreement outlines a framework for collaboration that includes the training and professional advancement of both sports specialists and athletes. It also encompasses the organization of joint training camps and the participation of representatives from both regions in various sporting events.
Maksim Voropay, who heads the Main Sports Department of the Minsk City Executive Committee, noted the historical strength of Uzbek athletes in combat sports.
He further indicated that plans are in place for the two regions to expand their cooperative efforts into football, swimming, and athletics. This partnership will cater to the development of both emerging young athletes and established elite competitors.
Voropay expressed optimism that the memorandum will serve to foster the growth of widespread sports participation and deepen the collaborative ties between Minsk and the Bukhara region.
