Mirziyoyev Attends Opening of Future Games in Astana

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was present at the inaugural event for the third Future Games international competition in Astana, as confirmed by the presidential press service.

The Barys Arena hosted the ceremony, which saw the attendance of several dignitaries, including Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, and other international invitees. Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a speech to the participants through a video message.

The event highlighted the tournament's "phygital" categories, which integrate digital contests with conventional sports and physical exercise. Organizers state that this format aims to motivate young individuals to engage in traditional sports.

The Uzbek president extended his greetings to those participating in the international tournament.

Earlier that day, Astana also hosted a summit focused on phygital sports, drawing in ministers of sports and technology, heads of diplomatic missions, and other high-ranking officials.

The first Future Games tournament was held in Kazan in 2024, an event also attended by the President of Uzbekistan for its opening. The subsequent tournament took place in Abu Dhabi in 2025.

For this year's Future Games, Uzbekistan is slated to compete in phygital football, laser tag, and dance disciplines.
