In Tashkent, a post-patrol service (PPX) inspector saved 13-year-old Muhammad Gayrat, who was swimming in the Borijar canal. According to the press secretary of the Yakkasaroy khokim, this incident occurred today, August 6.

When Yakkasaroy district post-patrol service inspector Rasul Jorayev saw the child drowning, he immediately jumped into the water and saved him. This incident was recognized as an example of the courage, dedication and heroism of a law enforcement officer in saving human life.

Heroes among us

Such examples of heroism are common in Uzbekistan. In July, railway employee A’zam Ibragimov saved two girls who fell into the Karasuv canal in Sergeli district. After that, Uzbekistan Railways awarded this employee.

Earlier, in the Kitab district of Kashkadarya, a 9-year-old boy fell into the river while riding a bicycle. Hearing the boy's older brother calling for help, a local FVB employee immediately came to the rescue and pulled the boy out of the water.

In April, an FVB employee in Namangan saw a three-year-old boy floating in the "Katta Namangan" canal while returning from work and saved his life.

Unfortunately, there are cases when rescuers have sacrificed their lives to save children. One such incident occurred on May 5, 2025. Abdumannop Samikov, who witnessed two 8-year-old girls falling into the Borijar canal, jumped into the water to save them and, with the help of an employee of a nearby sports complex, saved the girls, but he himself was unable to get out of the water. The hero was posthumously awarded the "Courage" medal.
