Tashkent National Park has halted its beach activities after the suspected drowning of a young girl.
Social media reports emerged detailing the tragic drowning of a five-year-old girl at the artificial beach within Tashkent's National Park on Wednesday. Onlookers at the scene confirmed these accounts, verifying that the drowning did occur.
Park officials stated they are not authorized to comment on the incident. As of yet, no official statement has been released by the relevant government agencies or oversight bodies concerning the matter.
Data from the Ministry of Emergency Situations indicates that 111 people have drowned throughout Uzbekistan in the first half of 2026.
