A man was detained in Kashkadarya after receiving a large sum of money in exchange for a promise to help privatize a plot of land.

In the Kashkadarya region, a man was arrested who received a large sum of money with the promise of assistance in privatizing a plot of land.

According to law enforcement, citizen O. Naimov, known locally as "Javokhir," learned of his fellow villager I. Muradullaev's desire to purchase land. Naimov offered Muradullaev assistance in privatizing a 6-hectare plot of land, which had previously been leased by the Kasan District Administration for 30 years for farming.

The suspect claimed he could resolve the matter through a relative who held a position in the district administration's agriculture department. He requested 100 million soums for his services. However, as the investigation established, O. Naimov failed to provide any documents confirming the possibility of registering the plot of land and insisted on the preliminary transfer of funds.

As a result of a sting operation conducted by officers from the Kashkadarya Regional Department of Internal Affairs, a man was detained while receiving 100 million soums. The banknotes had been pre-treated with a special substance.

A criminal case has been opened, and investigative measures are underway.
