In Tashkent, law enforcement officers detained a man suspected of extorting money from a young woman under threat of distributing her intimate photos and videos. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs press service. According to the agency, a 27-year-old Tashkent resident reported to law enforcement that the man had demanded $3,000 from her, threatening to distribute her personal materials.
A man suspected of blackmailing and extorting $3,000 from a woman has been arrested in Tashkent. He threatened to distribute her intimate photos and videos if she did not pay, as well as show them to her family, the Ministry of Internal Affairs press service reported.
According to the ministry, the 27-year-old Tashkent resident filed a complaint with law enforcement.
The suspect was caught red-handed while receiving money during an investigation.
A criminal case has been opened under Article 165, Part 1 (extortion) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. An investigation is currently underway.
