A court verdict has been issued against 8 individuals who blocked the road and obstructed traffic on Gulsaroy Street in the Olmazor district of Tashkent city, the capital's Department of Internal Affairs reports.

The department conducted an investigation after a video of the incident circulated on social networks. The footage shows a group of groomsmen blocking movement on the carriageway of a motor road to dance during a wedding ceremony.

"At around 16:00, when leaving the bride's house, we got a bit carried away with joy and emotion, and blocked the road. We do not recommend doing this to guys our age. We did not know the consequences would lead all the way here. We regret it," one of them said.

As a result of the investigation, a report was drawn up against them under Article 183 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility (Petty hooliganism), and the documents were submitted to the court.

According to the court decision, each of the violators was sentenced to 7 days of administrative detention. It is noted that the term of punishment is counted from November 3.
