“We got a bit carried away with emotion” – Groomsmen who danced on the road in Tashkent sentenced to 7 days of arrest

In the Olmazor district, individuals who danced on the roadway were subjected to administrative punishment.

According to the court document, on October 31, eight people aged between 19 and 30 danced on the roadway of Gulsaroy Street in the district, obstructing vehicular traffic.

“We blocked the road and had a little fun. We didn't think it would lead to such a situation. We regret what we did, it won't happen again,” said one of the offenders in court.

Another groomsman expressed regret, stating that when leaving the bride's house at around 4:00 PM that day, they blocked the road after “getting a bit carried away with joy and emotion,” and did not know it would result in this.

By the decision of the Olmazor District Criminal Court dated November 3, 2026, the groomsmen were found guilty of committing the offense of petty hooliganism. One of them was sentenced to 5 days of administrative arrest, while the rest were sentenced to 7 days each.
