Jonibek Raupov, chairman of the Ishtikhon District Criminal Court, acquitted a young man accused of a drug crime: the 23-year-old man, who had been held in custody since March 15, 2024, turned out to be innocent. Operational officers of the Samarkand Regional Department of Internal Affairs had accused him of selling mephedrone for $300 and arrested him during a special operation. However, in court, it was revealed that the crime had been fabricated by the operative officers themselves.

A young man held in custody for 7 months in Samarkand has been acquitted: the "operatives'" "trap" exposed themselves
In Samarkand, a young man accused of a drug crime has been acquitted.
**Operational event and charge**
According to the preliminary investigation documents, on March 14, 2026, at around 23:00, operational officers of the Samarkand Regional Internal Affairs Department conducted an operational event in the Sogdiana neighborhood of Samarkand city. During the event, Jamshid Akmalov, born in 2003, was arrested on charges of selling 1.02 grams of mephedrone for $300 to a person named "Alish," who participated in the event.
By a court order dated March 15, 2026, a preventive measure in the form of detention was applied against Jamshid.
**"Did you get caught, jackal?!"**
Jamshid Akmalov did not plead guilty in court. In his testimony, he stated that operational officers asked him to "find mephedrone and help conduct an operational event," and after he refused, they took him to the Internal Affairs Department building, beat him, stuffed money into his pocket, and then filmed it.
According to the defendant's testimony, on March 14, 2026, at around 10:00, he met with an acquaintance named Temur and went to a bathhouse and a barbershop together. Later, they drove around the city in a car belonging to Temur's friend named Parviz.
At around 21:00, Temur received a phone call from his uncle, who drives a Li-9 car. The uncle and nephew met. Then Temur arrived driving his uncle's Li-9 car and asked Jamshid Akmalov to find mephedrone for his uncle.
Jamshid Akmalov refused. "I will call you in front of my uncle, tell him that you will find mephedrone for him within an hour," Temur said.
Jamshid Akmalov refused this as well. After that, Temur made Jamshid get out of the car and told him to wait while he returned the car and came back.
Jamshid Akmalov got out of the Li-9, and while passing by a shop there, an operational officer named Shahboz from the Samarkand Regional Internal Affairs Department approached him and greeted him.
"Shahboz suddenly grabbed me from the back of my belt. Then he took me to the back of a Malibu car that had arrived there and tried to search my pockets. At that moment, an officer in plain clothes arrived and told them to put me in the car without searching my pockets. They put me in the middle of the back seat of the car, with officers named Shahboz and Eldor sitting on both sides.
