"You became a promotion winner": It was revealed that more than 110 citizens were scammed in Tashkent
In the Shaykhontohur district of Tashkent, the activities of a group that obtained funds by promising gifts and transferring money from citizens' credit and microloan limits have been uncovered. According to the Department of Internal Affairs of the Tashkent region, more than 300 million soums belonging to over 110 citizens were embezzled.

During an operational-search event conducted by officers of the Department for Combating Crimes in the Field of Information Technologies of the Tashkent Regional Department of Internal Affairs, an illegal call center located on the fourth floor of a multi-story building was identified and exposed. The department referred to this center as a "cyber-bunker."
According to the Department of Internal Affairs, D.X., born in 2005 and residing in the Fergana region, and his accomplices called citizens and convinced them that they had allegedly won a promotion.
They then told the citizens that the "payment for the gift" had to be temporarily transferred to individual entrepreneurship entities from the credit or microloan limit allocated to them. In return, they promised that the household appliances won in the promotion would be delivered later.
The group members also registered themselves as product suppliers on a trading platform. Some buyers who demanded their products or threatened to file a complaint were sent very cheap, low-quality, or incorrect goods that did not match their orders.
According to the Department of Internal Affairs, in this manner, the citizens' attention was distracted, and the credit or microloan limits allocated to them were fully misappropriated. After the funds were transferred, in most cases, contact with the victims was cut off.
Investigations revealed that five operators worked in the illegal center. They called hundreds of citizens on behalf of fake online stores on social networks.
During the operational event, 10 computer sets, eight mobile phones, 150 pages of documents containing citizens' personal data and tables of limits allocated through Uzum Nasiya, as well as two notebooks, were seized as material evidence.
Currently, the involvement of the group members in similar cases in other regions is being investigated. Preliminary investigation and operational-search activities are ongoing to determine the amount of damage caused and to ensure its recovery.
