Yandex Go experiencing outages. The company states restoration work is underway

On Sunday morning, October 11, the Yandex Go service, which combines taxi ordering, delivery, and other services, experienced malfunctions for several hours in Uzbekistan. When attempting to order a taxi, prices were not displayed, and it was impossible to place an order. The "Public Transport" section failed to show bus movements.

Problems are being reported not only by users, but also by drivers spoken to by Gazeta, as well as delivery couriers.

The press service of Yandex Uzbekistan informed Gazeta: "Unfortunately, some services may currently operate with errors or be temporarily unavailable. Our teams are working to restore everything as quickly as possible and resume helping our users and partners."

"The operation of complex technological services, including Yandex, requires significant computing power. Such services use a distributed computing infrastructure: different parts of tasks are executed on servers in different countries. A failure in one of the infrastructure components in one country can affect the availability of individual features in another," the company noted.

"In the event of a disruption to one of the components, the load is transferred to others to restore service operation and reduce the likelihood of repeated outages. The errors in the operation of the services are connected precisely to this," the press service added.

"Yandex Uzbekistan operates in full compliance with the legislation of Uzbekistan. The data of Uzbekistani users is stored in a jurisdiction that, according to the law, ensures adequate protection of the data of our services' users," the company emphasized.

Yandex Maps and Yandex Navigator services in Uzbekistan continue to operate as normal.

In neighboring countries, such as Kazakhstan, an outage in the Yandex Go service is also being recorded, writes

In the morning, the Yandex Cloud service reported damage to the infrastructure of the Yandex data center in Vladimir (Russia) as a result of a drone attack. "The operation of the data center has been completely stopped… The platform is operating in emergency mode," the statement reads.

A similar outage at Yandex Go was observed on Friday evening, October 9, and lasted for more than an hour. On that day, a UAV strike was carried out on a Yandex data center in the Kaluga Region of the Russian Federation. Against this backdrop, demand for the services of other taxi platforms surged, companies reported to Gazeta.

Following an attack on the Yandex data center in Ryazan on the night of October 8, a failure was observed in the operation of Uzbekistan's largest marketplace, Uzum Market. Its operation was restored on the morning of October 10.
