Woman suspected of deceiving girls with job promises detained in Istanbul

An Uzbek woman suspected of exploiting young girls by taking them to Turkey with promises of high-paying jobs and confiscating their passports has been detained in Istanbul. The individual, who had been on the international wanted list for a long time, was handed over to the competent authorities of Uzbekistan.

During operational-search activities conducted in cooperation with the law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan and Turkey, the whereabouts of N.E., a citizen of Uzbekistan born in 1981, was determined.

It is reported that she was wanted under Article 135, Part 3 of the Criminal Code — human trafficking.

N.E. is suspected of deceiving young girls with promises of high-paying jobs and taking them to Turkey. The report notes that she may have confiscated the girls' passports and exploited them.

The woman detained in Istanbul was handed over to the competent authorities of Uzbekistan in accordance with the established procedure. Currently, investigative and procedural actions against her are ongoing.

The report urged citizens to be wary of the deceptions of individuals promising high-paying jobs abroad.
