Wine was splashed in the face of Hungarian politician Peter Magyar. The incident took place during a harvest festival held in the city of Szekszárd. The politician himself posted a video depicting this event on his Facebook page.
The footage shows an unidentified man first taking a sip of the drink from a glass, and then splashing the wine towards the politician. A security officer immediately escorted the man outside, while Magyar continued his conversation with the festival participants.
Reacting to the incident, Magyar wrote that the man did not dare to approach him, and that good wine had gone to waste.
"One of Orban's former supporters got drunk and felt overly brave. On our way home from the city of Pécs, we went to the harvest festival in Szekszárd at the invitation of local residents. Apparently, this gentleman was annoyed that the people around were having a good time, and that we were talking and taking pictures with hundreds of people," Magyar said.
This is not the first time the politician has faced such a situation. Earlier, a similar provocation occurred near the Western Railway Station in Budapest while Magyar was on his way to a briefing — on that occasion, he was spat on.
Magyar reacted calmly to the situation and decided not to press charges against the person who spat on him. He stated that he considers Hungary to be a safe country.
