Why did Jahongir Ortiqhojayev leave Pakhtakor?

Jahongir Artikhojayev's partnership with Pakhtakor football club has ended. The decision to leave the club was announced to the team members on August 24, according to football expert Alisher Nikimboev, citing club officials.

The source noted that although Artikhojayev's departure from the club was expected, no one expected this process to happen so quickly.

The club's future remains uncertain at the moment. The team's first match in the Elite Champions League will be held on September 14 against Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia, and there are only about three weeks left.

Although no official statement has been made, media and experts suggest that Jahongir Ortiqhojayev's termination of cooperation with Pakhtakor may have been due to the refereeing decisions in the match against Surkhon. The club's main objection is that the referees did not take into account the goal scored by Hojimat Erkinov in the 90+3 minute of the match.

For information, after the 18th round of the Uzbekistan Championship, Pakhtakor is in 3rd place with 39 points. The team will play its next match on Tuesday, August 25, against Dinamo Samarkand.
