Bayern striker Harry Kane has named current champions PSG as the main contenders for the victory in the new season of the UEFA Champions League. This was reported by Marca.

According to Kane, the Parisian club deserves the status of the main favorite, as they have won the tournament twice in a row:

"I think PSG are the main favorite. They have won the tournament twice in a row. Of course, there are other strong teams like Bayern, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Barcelona. All the top clubs are fighting for the prize," said Kane.

The striker also recalled last season's Champions League, when Bayern lost to PSG in the semi-finals. The Englishman noted that his team had a good season, but lost by a small margin against a strong opponent.

"Now we have to put the last season behind us and focus on the new season. The Champions League is one of our main goals. We will work hard for it," added the English striker.

For information, according to the new format of the Champions League, 36 clubs will participate in the tournament, and each team will play 8 matches (4 home and 4 away) in the first round. The top eight teams in the unified tournament table will go directly to the 1/8 finals, while the clubs ranked 9-24 will fight for a place in the play-offs. The new Champions League season will start on September 8.
