The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) is on the verge of lifting its boycott of FIFA competitions. The reason for this is the official and guaranteed promise by FIFA management against the sale of shares in the World Cup. This was reported by The Guardian.

According to the source, European national teams will be allowed to participate in the upcoming U-20 Women's World Cup and future tournaments after FIFA President Gianni Infantino gave an assurance that the controversial commercial project would not be repeated.

The dispute arose after Infantino's project, called FIFA Forward Enterprise, was revealed. Although the plan was withdrawn, UEFA did not back down from its position for a long time until it was guaranteed that "such attempts to damage the image of the game will not be repeated." However, after closed-door talks in recent weeks, UEFA has received the official guarantees it has sought.

The lifting of the boycott will ensure that England, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy and hosts Poland can take part in the U-20 Women's World Cup, which starts in Poland on 5 September.

The matter will be formally resolved in Monaco, France, on 27 August. The relationship with FIFA will also be discussed at a meeting of UEFA's executive committee and the heads of its 55 member associations.
