“When my daughter told me I could get married, I scolded her.” Vazira Yunusova on her family and her participation in vines (video)

Theater and film actress Vazira Yunusova gave an interview to the “Daryo lifestyle” YouTube channel about why she still has not received a title despite being on stage for 35 years, how her daughter told her she could remarry after her husband's death, and why she acts in vines.

“I see actresses on sets who look down on young people”

— On many film sets, I see actresses who treat young people with disdain. Many of them do not return the greetings of the youth and speak with an annoyed expression. Young actors also stay silent once or twice. Then they don't even want to say hello anymore. “There is no rice without chaff,” and it is the same among our elders — there are those who need to educate themselves.

“A woman should put family first”

— I speak from my experience: a woman must put her family first. No matter what, family comes first. Because we women were created from a man's rib. Therefore, we must not forget our main duty. In fact, our main duty in this world is to bring our children into the world, make them educated and knowledgeable, and give them a beautiful upbringing. For example, when my husband told me “do not work,” I did not work for six years. Then, after I turned 30, I went to work with his consent. Even then, I did not act in feature films, but in “Otalar so‘zi” (Words of the Fathers). The reason was that we didn't go to distant places for filming; the work started at eight every day and ended at five or six. I would return home from work, cook our food, and do other chores.

Today, along with acting in films and TV series, Vazira Yunusova also plays roles in vines with the most in-demand team of viners. What motivates the actress to do this?

— To tell the truth, the theater salary is neither too much nor too little — it is average. I think if my husband were alive, I wouldn't have acted in vines. Another thing: when phones first came out, our elders used to say, “you are too absorbed in phones,” but now, for example, it has reached a point where people look at their phones even during meetings. This situation is not only here, it is the same all over the world. That is why I say that our older actresses are also gradually acting in vines. If you have noticed, I do not act in just plain vines, but in vines that have advertisements. Looking at it differently, vines are also filmed for state advertising. Even before, older and famous artists were invited to commercials. Only those were shown on television, and this is just the phone version of the same thing.

“Almost everyone who entered the arts after me has received a title”

— Every actor and actress wishes to play a good role and leave a good legacy. Along with them, I have been serving my people for 35 years. This is equivalent to a child being born and turning 35 years old. Be it positive, negative, small, or large — we have been playing roles. If in the film “Oʻtkan kunlar” (Days Gone By) there were only Otabek, Kumush, and Zaynab, and there were no characters around them, would the movie be like this? It wouldn't. Just as characters like aunts, maternal aunts, and nephews in life complete it, they also complete the film. For the two main characters to come to life, the surrounding characters strengthen the reality and help. After that, just like a child is born, a film comes into existence.

Sometimes I hear statements like “one must play big roles to get a title.” This statement hurts a person very much. But there are those who play big roles and perform worthlessly. There are also actors who play small roles around the main characters and remain in people's memories. Therefore, the fact that I have been serving for years and have not received a state award, of course, upsets me. Because I have 35 years of labor. Almost everyone who came into the arts after me has already been awarded.

“When my daughter told me I could get married, I scolded her”

— My middle daughter Durdona once joked, “mother, you are still young, you can get married,” and I scolded the poor child. I told her not to think about this at all and that I was very deeply offended by her words. I reproached her, saying, “Look at what you are telling me before your father's grave has even gone cold.” But my daughter, by saying what children should say to a father or mother in Islam, fulfilled her duty and absolved herself of it. Of course, she did this because she is educated. She said it smiling and joking. I understood her. But I have never entertained the thought of remarrying, nor do I think about it. From now on, I want to live my life with my daughters, marry them off, marry off my grandchildren, live however much life I have left, and have my husband meet me when I go to the other world.
