What should you do if your passport or ID card is lost?

What to do if a passport or ID card is lost?
If your old-style biometric passport or ID card is lost, you must contact the migration and citizenship registration department (passport office) or the Public Services Center to report the lost document. If an old-style biometric passport is lost, a new ID card is issued, and if an ID card is lost, a new ID card is issued to replace the lost one.
Once the application regarding the loss is registered, the document is declared invalid. If the lost document is found before a new document is obtained, the registration process can be stopped by submitting a written application. If the document is found after a new document has been obtained, it must be handed over to the internal affairs bodies.
The application can be submitted through the my.gov.uz portal — via the "Applying for obtaining or replacing an ID card" service.
In the form, you need to select the reason "Replacing a lost or damaged passport", indicate the region, district, and a convenient passport office, as well as the date of the visit. Then, the document type and mobile phone number are entered.
After filling out the form, submit the application and pay the service fee. After that, go to the selected passport office. There, the information will be verified, fingerprints will be taken, and a photo will be captured.
Important: you can apply and choose a visit time through my.gov.uz, but it is not possible to obtain an ID card remotely.
