What can be built between multi-storey buildings and which requirements must be followed in doing so?

When constructing new buildings or densifying the area between existing multi-storey buildings, it is required to comply with urban planning standards, as well as to ensure public safety and comfortable living conditions. In this process, requirements regarding parking spaces, common areas, natural light, utility networks, and landscaping must be taken into account.

According to Urban Planning Norms and Rules 2.07.01-23, at least seven parking spaces must be allocated for every 10 apartments in multi-apartment buildings in the city of Tashkent and Tashkent region. In other regions, one parking space is required for every two apartments. If sufficient space is not allocated for parking, the traffic load may increase, causing inconvenience for residents.

Paragraph 79 of the regulation also specifies the facilities that can be placed between multi-apartment buildings in existing blocks and microdistricts. These include children's playgrounds, adult recreation and workout areas, clothes drying areas, and parking lots. These requirements are aimed at preserving the common areas necessary for residents.

Furthermore, in accordance with paragraph 78 of the regulation, a new building must not negatively affect the natural lighting of apartments in neighboring houses. The distance between buildings is determined on the basis of current urban planning and sanitary standards.

During the construction process, safety requirements for underground gas pipelines and other utility networks must also be observed. The necessary distances are established based on the type of pipeline, pressure, and relevant technical standards. These requirements are of great importance in preventing fires, explosions, and other emergency situations.

In addition, according to paragraph 86 of the regulation, at least 30 percent of the area of the block where multi-apartment buildings are located must be landscaped. Therefore, when planning an area, along with constructing new buildings, it is also important to preserve green spaces and create a comfortable environment for residents.

Any new construction project between existing houses must comply with current urban planning standards and ensure public safety and comfortable living conditions.
