Water consumption monitoring will be carried out using drones

The Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers dated September 16, 2026, No. 488 "On further increasing the efficiency of state control over water-saving irrigation technologies and water consumption" has been adopted.

In pursuance of No. PP-47 dated February 5, 2026, departments for monitoring the use of water-saving technologies and water resources have been established within the structure of the Karakalpak Republican Administration and regional territorial administrations of the "Vodkhoznadzor" Inspectorate.

In addition, starting from July 1, 2026, the "Vodkhoznadzor" Inspectorate conducts inspections of business entities using body cameras. It is also permitted to use unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) to perform the tasks assigned to the Inspectorate.

Monitoring activities carried out with the help of drones are not considered inspections of the activities of economic entities and are not subject to registration in the "Unified State Control" information system.

When using and storing the 20 unmanned aerial vehicles authorized for import, the inspectorate is assigned the responsibility provided for by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers dated November 15, 2022, No. 658 "On additional measures to regulate the use of unmanned aerial vehicles in the Republic of Uzbekistan."

The document was published in the National Database of Legislation in the state language and entered into force on September 17, 2026.
