Uztelecom, in cooperation with Amazon Leo, is expanding satellite communication capabilities in Uzbekistan

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite system, designed to provide fast and reliable internet connection in areas where traditional networks have limited capabilities.

This cooperation will serve to expand connectivity options in places where building traditional telecommunications infrastructure is difficult. Satellite solutions will complement existing terrestrial networks, increasing access to modern high-speed communication services for residents of remote settlements and enterprises operating in hard-to-reach areas.

Expanding access to high-speed internet for the population will create additional opportunities for using state digital services, remote education, online consultations from doctors, remote work, and communication. For business, modern satellite solutions will offer new ways of connecting production and infrastructure facilities, while for the state, it will contribute to the further development of the country's unified digital space.

Uztelecom is consistently developing Uzbekistan's telecommunications infrastructure, expanding the fiber-optic network, modernizing mobile communications, and creating modern data centers and cloud platforms. Currently, the company provides communication to 96 percent of settlements, operating 378,802 km of fiber-optic communication lines.

At the same time, the country's geography creates a need for alternative connectivity technologies in some remote and hard-to-reach areas. "Amazon Leo" satellite solutions are designed to complement Uztelecom's existing infrastructure in precisely such situations — expanding connectivity options where developing terrestrial networks is limited or less economically viable.

Under the agreement, UZ-SAT, as an authorized distributor of Amazon Leo, will create and provide connectivity solutions for customers across Uzbekistan using the Amazon Leo network and capabilities.
