Uzmetkombinat studied Trina energy storage systems
Uzmetkombinat discussed with Trina Storage the use of battery systems to improve energy efficiency and reliability of power supply.

On August 26, a delegation from Uzmetkombinat JSC visited Trina Storage's production site in Chuzhou, China, to study battery energy storage systems and discuss their potential implementation at the plant's facilities. The visit was organized by All Solar, a distributor of Trinasolar solar modules in Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, Uzmetkombinat representatives learned about the production and integration of battery energy storage systems (BESS). The parties discussed how such solutions can contribute to more efficient energy management, reduce peak loads, and improve the reliability of the plant's power supply.
Trina Storage specialists presented comprehensive solutions based on their own lithium iron phosphate battery cells. These systems include battery and energy management, power conversion, liquid cooling, and fire protection.
The delegation also examined the Elementa 3 industrial energy storage system, which uses the company's proprietary 587 Ah battery cells. A single container of this system can store up to 6.25 MWh of electricity. For safety, the Elementa 3 is equipped with early fault detection systems, fire-resistant UL 94-5VA battery modules, and composite walls capable of containing a fire for two hours.
Uzmetkombinat, one of the leading players in Uzbekistan's ferrous metallurgy, is located in Bekabad and produces rolled steel, grinding balls, ferroalloys, and other industrial products. The company is actively modernizing its production, focusing on energy efficiency, sustainable development, and the efficient use of resources.
Bakhodir Tozhimirzaevich Abdullaev, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Uzmetkombinat JSC, stated that the company continues to explore the use of battery energy storage systems to improve energy management efficiency, operational reliability, and reduce its long-term carbon footprint.
Koo Jun-hyun, Vice President of Trinasolar's Asia-Pacific Region, noted that storage systems enable energy-intensive enterprises to flexibly manage electricity and, when combined with renewable energy sources, improve the efficiency and reliability of power supply.
Following the visit, Uzmetkombinat and Trina Storage agreed to continue discussing the possibility of using energy storage systems at the plant's production facilities.
Trinasolar also announced international recognition of its technologies. According to the company, S&P Global Energy has listed Trinasolar as a Tier 1 supplier of photovoltaic modules and energy storage systems in 2026. Trina Storage has also maintained its Tier 1 status as an energy storage system supplier according to BloombergNEF for ten consecutive quarters.
This potential collaboration is being considered in the context of energy storage system development in Uzbekistan, where the total installed capacity of such systems is expected to reach 4.5 GW by 2030.
