"Uzbekneftegaz" has increased gasoline reserves ahead of winter by 2.5 times. Will there be queues at gas stations?

"Uzbekneftegaz" has increased its gasoline reserves 2.5 times ahead of winter. The state company promises uninterrupted fuel supplies to its own gas stations, the number of which has grown from 31 to 152 since the beginning of the year. However, it did not guarantee the absence of queues at all gas stations in the country.

"Uzbekneftegaz" has increased gasoline reserves for the winter by 2.5 times. Will queues arise at gas stations?

"Uzbekneftegaz" has increased gasoline reserves at oil depots by 2.5 times compared to last year. The company reported that its own gas stations are fully supplied with fuel for the upcoming winter season. Abrorjon Khudoyberganov, Deputy Chairman of the company for refining, spoke about this at a press conference on October 27, a "Gazeta" correspondent reports.

For the upcoming winter, automobile gasoline reserves have been formed at oil depots that are 2.5 times higher than the figure for the same period last year.

Answering a question about whether the growth in reserves will help avoid queues and fuel disruptions, the deputy head of "Uzbekneftegaz" noted that the company is expanding its own network of gas stations and increasing the volume of sales of petroleum products.

"At the beginning of the year, we had 31 gas stations, now their number has been brought to 152. The volumes of product sales compared to the beginning of the year have increased five to six times," Khudoyberganov said.

According to him, AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline, as well as several types of diesel fuel, including Euro-4 and Euro-6 standards, are available at the company's gas stations.

"Today, at every one of our gas stations, gasoline and several types of diesel fuel are available. We have the necessary reserves, no disruptions are expected. Automobile gasoline and diesel fuel will be available at "Uzbekneftegaz" gas stations in all regions. If you have paid attention, over the last 9–10 months, the price of gasoline here has not exceeded 12 thousand sums," he assured.

At the same time, the company representative separately emphasized that this applies only to gas stations that are part of the "Uzbekneftegaz" system, and not to the entire fuel market of the country.

"Please note, we are talking about "Uzbekneftegaz" gas stations. On the domestic market of Uzbekistan, there are other major participants, private entrepreneurs. We are now talking only about our gas stations," clarified Mumin Ibodov, the company's press secretary.

Thus, the company gave no guarantees of the absence of queues or gasoline disruptions at all gas stations in the republic during the winter period.

According to the Deputy Chairman of "Uzbekneftegaz", the growth in the number of operating gas stations is ensured, among other things, by restoring and modernizing already existing facilities in the regions.

The company is conducting reconstruction of stations, replacing old fuel dispensers, and installing equipment for more accurate accounting of dispensed fuel.

"In the regions, including in remote districts, we also used to have filling stations. At the first stage, we carried out their partial reconstruction and replaced dispensers to provide consumers with high-quality fuel in the exact volume," he reported.

According to the company, about 90 new fuel dispensers have been installed at gas stations.

In Tashkent and the Tashkent region, modernization affected 10 filling stations. New measurement and remote control systems were installed on them.

Through the "Uzbekneftegaz" situation center, specialists can monitor fuel balances at stations, sales volumes, and prices.

In addition, company employees conduct checks on the accuracy of fuel dispensing at oil depots and gas stations.

Based on the results of January–September 2026, "Uzbekneftegaz" produced 773.5 thousand tons of automobile gasoline, fulfilling the production plan by 100.2%.

In Uzbekistan, during the cold period, restrictions were repeatedly imposed on the operation of CNG filling stations selling methane. This was due to a drop in pressure in gas pipelines and the need to supply natural gas to the population and social facilities.

In particular, during the 2025/2026 heating season, restrictions on the operation of methane gas stations were introduced several times.

In December 2025, one of the reasons was a reduction in natural gas imports from Turkmenistan due to a technical fault in the gas transmission system. According to the Ministry of Energy, the daily gas deficit at that time reached 6 million cubic meters.

From January 19, 2026, methane gas stations were closed for private cars for two weeks. In March, restrictions were introduced again against the backdrop of a cold spell. With reduced availability of methane, some motorists are forced to switch to gasoline, which creates additional pressure on the petroleum products market.

In July 2026, plans to prepare the oil and gas industry for the autumn-winter season of 2026/2027 were presented to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

According to these plans, the creation of an automobile gasoline reserve of 120 thousand tons is provided for December and January. For comparison, a year earlier, the planned reserve was 65 thousand tons.

The authorities also instructed to ensure stable supplies of energy resources, complete infrastructure repairs, and prepare emergency services.
