Historical achievement for Uzbekistan: national team wins four gold medals and finishes second at the FIA Asia-Pacific Motorsport Championship 2026

The national team of Uzbekistan demonstrated a historical result at the FIA Asia-Pacific Motorsport Championship 2026, which took place from October 23 to 25 at the Bira Circuit in Thailand. Uzbek athletes won four gold and two silver medals, securing second place for the country in the overall team standings of the tournament for the first time.

This performance became one of the most significant successes of domestic motorsport and clearly demonstrated the progress of Uzbek athletes on the international stage.

The national team's results over recent years show a gradual strengthening of Uzbekistan's position at the Asia-Pacific region championship.

In 2023, at the competition in Malaysia, the national team won the country's first silver medal and took 11th place in the overall team standings.

In 2025, at the championship in Sri Lanka, Uzbek athletes received two bronze awards and finished their performance in 12th position.

In 2026, the national team significantly improved its result: four gold and two silver medals allowed the team to rise to second place.

The performance of the Uzbek athletes was particularly successful in the Karting Slalom discipline, where driving precision, technical skills, and track completion speed played a key role.

The National Automotive and Motorcycle Federation of Uzbekistan (UZMAMF) emphasizes the importance of state support for the development of domestic motorsport.

Special attention is paid to creating conditions for training athletes, improving sports infrastructure, supporting talented youth, and expanding the participation of the national team in international competitions.

The Federation expressed its gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the leadership of the country, and the Ministry of Sports for their attention to the development of sports disciplines and support for domestic motorsport.

For technical sports, which require specialized equipment, professional training, and regular competitive practice, infrastructure development and systematic athlete training are of particular importance.

An important direction for the development of Uzbek motorsport remains cooperation with the International Automobile Federation (FIA). UZMAMF has been a member of the organization since December 2019.

International cooperation opens up additional opportunities for athletes to participate in regional and international competitions, exchange experience, introduce professional standards, and train young drivers.

The expansion of regional cooperation also plays a significant role in the development of motorsport. Joint competitions, educational programs, and professional exchange help strengthen sports ties between the countries of Central Asia and increase the competitiveness of their athletes.

Four gold and two silver medals, as well as second place in the overall team standings of the FIA Asia-Pacific Motorsport Championship 2026, became a landmark result for the national team of Uzbekistan.

This success confirms the potential of domestic motorsport and creates additional opportunities for the further development of the athlete training system, the expansion of international cooperation, and the strengthening of the country's positions in technical sports.

The National Automotive and Motorcycle Federation of Uzbekistan congratulated the athletes, coaches, and everyone involved on the historical achievement, expressing hope for new victories on the international stage.
