Uzbekistanis will be able to pay for purchases via QR in Kazakhstan

Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are preparing mutual payments using national QR codes. After the launch of the system, citizens of Uzbekistan will be able to pay for goods and services using this system in Kazakhstan, and citizens of Kazakhstan will be able to do so during trips to Uzbekistan.

The memorandum was signed by the HUMO payment system and the National Payment Corporation of Kazakhstan in Almaty. The parties intend to link the national QR infrastructures of the two countries so that payments can be processed through already existing systems.

Another area of cooperation is direct money transfers between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Users will be able to send money to cards in the neighboring country through their usual mobile banking applications. Specific launch dates for both services have not yet been announced.
