Uzbekistan will play against Jamaica in the first round of the Chess Olympiad. Sindarov will miss the match

On September 16, the national teams of Uzbekistan will play their first matches at the Chess Olympiad in Samarkand. The three men's teams will play against Jamaica, Afghanistan, and Mali, while the women's teams will face Trinidad and Tobago, Togo, and Tanzania. Javokhir Sindarov will not play in the first round.

On September 16, the matches of the 46th World Chess Olympiad will begin in Samarkand. The first men's national team of Uzbekistan will meet Jamaica, the second — Afghanistan, and the third — Mali. In the women's tournament, the opponents of the Uzbekistani teams will be Trinidad and Tobago, Togo, and Tanzania.

Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Nodirbek Yakubboev, Shamsiddin Vokhidov, and Mukhiddin Madaminov will play for the first men's national team in the opening round. Javokhir Sindarov will miss the first match.

In the first women's team, Gulrukhbegim Tokhirjonova, Umida Omonova, Nilufarkhon Imomkuzieva, and Guldona Karimova will take to the boards. The first-round games will start at 15:00.

Among other notable pairings in the open tournament in the first round: Iraq — USA, India — Thailand, China — Uganda, Faroe Islands — Germany, Netherlands — Hong Kong, Morocco — Azerbaijan, and Hungary — Malta.

In the women's tournament, India will play the Dominican Republic, Tunisia — Georgia, Kazakhstan — Botswana, Zambia — China, USA — Andorra, Iraq — Ukraine, Azerbaijan — Guatemala.

Before the start of the Olympiad, the board orders of the leading national teams also became known. India arranged its players by rating: Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa is registered on the first board, followed by Arjun Erigaisi, Nihal Sarin, and on the last, fourth board — the reigning world champion Gukesh Dommaraju. Vidit Gujrathi is listed as the fifth player.

In the Uzbekistan team, captain Rustam Kasimdzhanov placed Nodirbek Abdusattorov on the first board, although Javokhir Sindarov's rating is slightly higher. Next in the board order are Sindarov, Nodirbek Yakubboev, Shamsiddin Vokhidov, and Mukhiddin Madaminov. At the same time, Sindarov will not play in the first round against Jamaica.

The USA registered its players in the order of Fabiano Caruana, Wesley So, Hans Niemann, Levon Aronian, and Awonder Liang. For China, the first five positions were taken by Ding Liren, Wei Yi, Yu Yangyi, Xu Xiangyu, and Wang Xiangyu.

The World Chess Olympiad in Samarkand will gather a record 400 teams. Uzbekistan approaches the home tournament as one of the favorites, with the main rivals being the USA, India, and China.
