On September 16, the matches of the 46th World Chess Olympiad will begin in Samarkand. The first men's national team of Uzbekistan will meet Jamaica, the second — Afghanistan, and the third — Mali. Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Nodirbek Yakubboev, Shamsiddin Vokhidov, and Mukhiddin Madaminov will play for the first men's national team in the opening round. Javokhir Sindarov will miss the first match.

Before the start of the Olympiad, the board orders of the leading national teams also became known. India arranged its players by rating: Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa is registered on the first board, followed by Arjun Erigaisi, Nihal Sarin, and on the last, fourth board — the reigning world champion Gukesh Dommaraju. Vidit Gujrathi is listed as the fifth player.
In the Uzbekistan team, captain Rustam Kasimdzhanov placed Nodirbek Abdusattorov on the first board, although Javokhir Sindarov's rating is slightly higher.
