Uzbekistan utilized $44.3 billion in foreign investments over nine months

In January–September 2026, Uzbekistan utilized $44.3 billion in foreign investments and credit funds. During this period, 106 major projects with a total value of $3.8 billion were commissioned, creating 13.8 thousand jobs.

This was stated in the response of the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov to a parliamentary inquiry from the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis concerning the monitoring of foreign-invested projects in the regions, the evaluation of their effectiveness, and the improvement of interaction with investors.

According to the presented data, digital monitoring of investment project implementation is being carried out. It is designed to identify in a timely manner any problems that arise during their execution.

In addition, measures are being taken to improve the management of special economic zones and to increase the efficiency of using foreign loans secured by state guarantees.

As part of improving the legal framework for the operation of special economic zones, a draft of the Law "On Special Economic Zones" in a new edition has been prepared. Furthermore, support measures for exporters are gradually being brought into line with Uzbekistan's international trade obligations.

During the review of the response, the deputies emphasized that the performance of investment activity should be evaluated not only by the volume of utilized funds, but also by the creation of added value, the provision of sustainable employment, the development of cooperation with local enterprises, and the impact on the well-being of the population.

In this regard, proposals were put forward to select projects with high economic returns taking into account the potential and specialization of the regions, to strengthen production ties with local enterprises, and to orient investment initiatives toward achieving concrete results.

The deputies noted that parliamentary control in this area will make it possible to study the implementation of legislation, identify existing problems, and increase the effectiveness of the work of the responsible state bodies.

Following the review of the response to the parliamentary inquiry, a corresponding decision was adopted.
