Uzbekistan topped the CIS country ranking for fixed broadband internet speed

Uzbekistan has taken first place among CIS countries in fixed internet speed

Uzbekistan has improved its position in the global internet speed ranking, the Speedtest Global Index. In August, the country climbed three spots in both mobile and fixed internet, and ranked first among CIS nations in fixed connection speed.

According to the Ministry of Digital Technologies, the average download speed in mobile internet grew from 62.42 to 65.27 Mbps over the month. Thanks to this, Uzbekistan rose from 75th to 72nd place in the global ranking.

Over five years, the country has gained 65 positions in mobile internet speed.

In addition, since the beginning of 2026, mobile internet in the country has accelerated significantly. Over eight months, the average download speed increased by 27% — from 51.42 to 65.27 Mbps.

Growth was also recorded in fixed networks: the indicator rose from 94.23 to 94.50 Mbps.

As a result, compared to the data from December 2025, Uzbekistan moved from 76th to 73rd place in the world.
