Uzbekistan took 3rd place in the Para-Chess Olympiad
The national team of Uzbekistan took third place at the III Chess Olympiad for People with Disabilities, which is being held in Samarkand. 41 teams and 164 chess players from 36 countries participated in the Olympiad. This is the first bronze medal in the history of Uzbek para-chess.

The national team of Uzbekistan took 3rd place at the III Chess Para-Olympiad held in the city of Samarkand. This was announced by the Chess Federation of Uzbekistan.
The Para-Olympiad, which started on September 11, featured 41 teams and 164 chess players from 36 countries. The national team of Uzbekistan participated in the competition with 3 squads.
In the decisive 7th round, the Uzbekistan-1 team defeated the Israeli national team with a score of 2.5:1.5.
According to the results of the competition, Poland took 1st place, Cuba took 2nd place, and the national team of Uzbekistan was awarded 3rd place with 11 points. This is the first bronze medal won at the Olympiad in the history of Uzbek para-chess.
The World Chess Olympiad in Samarkand will bring together a record 400 teams. Uzbekistan enters this home tournament as one of the favorites, with the main competitors being the USA, India, and China.
