Uzbekistan to participate in the International Space Summit in Paris
The International Space Summit will be held on September 9–10 in Paris, co-chaired by France and Germany, with the participation of a delegation from Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan will participate in the International Space Summit, which will take place on September 9–10 in Paris.
The event will bring together representatives from various states, international and regional organizations, the scientific community, and the private sector to discuss current issues in the space industry.
The summit will be co-chaired by France and Germany. Within its framework, it is planned to consider a wide range of topics related to the space economy, security, science, ecology, regulation, the role of Europe, and global governance of space activities.
France occupies a special place in the European space sector thanks to its leading national infrastructures, including the Guiana Space Centre, as well as an industry that accounts for about half of the European space sector's turnover.
The country's scientific potential and developed network of international cooperation allow it to play a leading role in shaping European space policy, which is oriented toward autonomous, sustainable, and competitive access to space.
One of the reference points of the summit will be the Outer Space Treaty of 1967, which is considered the foundation of international space law. The event will take place ahead of the World Radiocommunication Conference and the UNISPACE IV conference, dedicated to the exploration and peaceful uses of outer space.
The summit program includes four main areas. Participants will discuss outer space security issues, including the importance of dialogue, defense, and partnership, as well as the preservation of the space environment, the sustainability of space activities, and ensuring free access to space.
Special attention will be paid to the competitiveness of space services and their long-term development in the interests of the global economy. Among the topics are also new economic opportunities in the space industry and the tasks of its consolidation at the European level.
Another area will be the global and responsible governance of outer space. The organizers emphasize that space is a common heritage and must not turn into a space unregulated by legal norms.
The fourth topic is related to the role of space in scientific research, the study of the Universe, and technological development, as well as its significance for inspiring and mobilizing youth.
The event at the Grand Palais in Paris is expected to bring together more than 2,000 participants and 100 foreign delegations.
Among them are heads of state and government, representatives of international and regional organizations, parliamentarians, scientists, the military, astronauts, representatives of the private sector, civil society, local authorities, and development banks.
Uzbekistan will be represented at the summit as a participant in the space sector.
