Uzbekistan to head the CIS Tourism Council for 2026–2027

Uzbekistan has become the chair of the Tourism Council of the CIS member states for 2026–2027. The head of the Tourism Committee, Abdulaziz Akkulov, has been appointed Chairman of the Council, the Tourism Committee reports. The decision was made at a meeting of the Council in Dushanbe. Uzbekistan has assumed the chairmanship of the Tourism Council of the CIS member states for 2026–2027. Abdulaziz Akkulov, head of the Tourism Committee, has been appointed Chairman of the Council, the Tourism Committee reports.

The corresponding decision was made at a meeting of the Council in Dushanbe. It was attended by representatives of Uzbekistan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan.

During its chairmanship, Uzbekistan will focus on the development of transboundary tourism and joint routes. In addition, there are plans to expand the exchange of tourism statistics and the training of specialists.

The next meeting of the CIS Tourism Council will be held in 2027 in Uzbekistan.
