A delegation from the World Club of Petersburgers visited Uzbekistan. In Nukus, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between two state museums.

The State Museum of Arts of Karakalpakstan named after I.V. Savitsky and the State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg have concluded a memorandum of cooperation.
This document became one of the results of a trip to Uzbekistan by a delegation from the World Club of St. Petersburgers, which was dedicated to strengthening museum, scientific, and cultural ties.
The delegation was headed by the Chairman of the Club's Board, Natalia Sidorkevich. The visit began in Nukus with the laying of flowers at the grave of the founder of the State Museum of Arts of Karakalpakstan named after I.V. Savitsky.
Following this, a meeting was held with the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan, Azhiniyaz Kaynazarov.
The participants discussed prospects for cooperation in the fields of science, higher education, tourism, publishing, and inter-museum exchange.
During the meeting, greetings were also conveyed from the Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, and the Chairman of the city's Legislative Assembly, Alexander Belsky.
The messages emphasized the historical closeness and long-standing partnership of St. Petersburg with Uzbekistan, including the republic's role in receiving thousands of evacuated residents of besieged Leningrad during World War II. The importance of further developing humanitarian ties between the regions was particularly noted.
In addition to signing the memorandum, Natalia Sidorkevich presented the museum with works by St. Petersburg artists who are members of the World Club of St. Petersburgers.
The donation included the canvas "Amir Temur Mausoleum" by Honored Artist of Russia Nikita Fomin and paintings by Anatoly Annenkov, a member of the Russian Union of Artists and a lecturer at the Russian Academy of Arts. The museum was also presented with a bibliophile edition of "The Earthly and Heavenly Hermitage," published by the "Rare Book from Saint Petersburg" publishing house.
The cultural program included visits to the ancient monuments of Karakalpakstan — Chilpyk, Toprak-Kala, and Ayaz-Kala — as well as a tour of Ichan-Kala in Khiva, which is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
In Khiva, the delegation met with the director of the museum-reserve, Odilbek Ibragimov. The parties discussed issues regarding the preservation and restoration of adobe architecture in light of climate change and exchanged commemorative gifts.
Based on the results of the trip, prospects were outlined for joint research and exhibition projects between the museums of St. Petersburg, Nukus, and Khiva.
The World Club of St. Petersburgers also expressed its gratitude to the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in St. Petersburg for its assistance in organizing the visit.
