Uzbekistan reported a possible data leak of users of popular services

A possible data leak of users of popular services was reported in Uzbekistan

Reports have appeared on social networks about a possible leak of databases containing personal information of users of several popular services in Uzbekistan, including SafeRoad, inDrive, Lada Auto, KiwiTaxi, and Fargo. Digital technology expert Shukhrat Kurbanov stated that when checking the circulated information, he discovered his own personal data, including PINFL (Personal Identification Number of a Physical Person), residential addresses, and details about vehicles and their documents.

According to Kurbanov, he assumed that the databases mostly contained general data, such as email addresses. However, verification showed that there might also be more sensitive information: PINFL, residential addresses, information about vehicles connected to the app, their license plate numbers, as well as driver's license and vehicle registration certificate data.

Other reports state that the databases may contain information on purchases, delivery orders, and medicines bought at pharmacies several years ago. At the same time, it has not yet been established whether this data actually belongs to the listed services and how large-scale the leak might have been.

Kurbanov expressed hope that the relevant organizations are already aware of the situation and have launched an investigation to establish the sources of the information's distribution.

At present, the cited publications contain no official confirmation of the leak, no data on the number of affected users, and no comments from the listed services.
