Uzbekistan proposed to unite the data centers of Central Asian countries

Uzbekistan has launched an initiative to unite the data centers of Central Asian countries
Uzbekistan has proposed forming a common computing infrastructure for the states of Central Asia based on an interconnected network of national data centers. This initiative aims at the joint use of computing power, as well as the development of proprietary digital solutions and projects in the field of artificial intelligence.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev made this proposal on October 8 at the eighth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia in Turkmenistan.
As the president noted, artificial intelligence and big data processing technologies are already transforming industry, transport, energy, agriculture, education, and public administration. According to Mirziyoyev, the productivity of the region's economies and their ability to compete in the future will largely depend on their development.
The proposed system provides for the interconnection of national data centers of the region's countries. This is expected to allow for more efficient use of available computing power and create a technical base for the implementation of major projects in the field of artificial intelligence.
Mirziyoyev emphasized that digital projects can yield results faster than large infrastructure facilities, so the countries of the region need to pool their capabilities in this area.
At the same time, the president linked the development of computing infrastructure not only with technical resources, but also with the training of specialists. He proposed launching joint training programs, supporting scientific research, and expanding opportunities for technological entrepreneurship.
As a reminder, at the eighth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed that the countries of the region and Azerbaijan develop joint industrial and technological chains, as well as create new mechanisms for the implementation of common projects.
