Uzbekistan plans to open branches of 300 of the world's leading universities
To date, there are 32 branches of foreign higher education institutions operating in Uzbekistan, according to a report by the press service of the head of state.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that one of the key tasks now will be the creation of branches of 300 of the world's leading universities.
Private universities that attract franchises of leading foreign universities will be reimbursed for up to 50% of the costs for laboratories and equipment, as well as up to 50% of the brand licensing fees, the release states.
In addition, the state will compensate up to 30% of campus construction costs and provide state-funded grant places to help recoup investments.
According to the press service, special attention is planned to be paid to training specialists in fields most in demand for the economy, including engineering, agriculture and water management, energy, artificial intelligence, and medicine.
The head of state also held a meeting with educators and listened to their proposals and initiatives.
