Uzbekistan may build a residential complex near Kabul airport

Uzbekistan has submitted a number of construction and infrastructure projects to Afghanistan. Among them are a residential and public complex on a 60-hectare plot near Kabul International Airport, as well as a business center and residential buildings in the Afghan capital.

The initiatives were presented by an Uzbek delegation led by Bobur Elmurodov, General Director of O‘zshaharsozlik LITI, during a meeting with Afghanistan's Deputy Minister of Urban Development and Housing for Financial Affairs, Nasih Rabboni, and other specialists.

In addition to the facilities in Kabul, the Uzbek side proposed implementing projects in the Hairatan industrial zone. There are also plans to create a meat processing cluster in Mazar-i-Sharif to supply high-quality meat products to Uzbekistan.

Afghan representatives stated they are ready to create conditions for the operation of Uzbek companies in the country. Following the meeting, it was also proposed to open a representative office of O‘zshaharsozlik LITI in Kabul and organize training for Afghan specialists in construction professions.

In October, the Uzbek delegation intends to continue negotiations with the relevant Afghan ministry and visit construction sites in Kabul, including those related to the "New Kabul" project.

Earlier, a delegation from the Cultural Heritage Agency of Uzbekistan visited Afghanistan to assess the condition of historical monuments related to the history and culture of the region. The parties discussed involving Uzbek specialists in their preservation and restoration.
