Uzbekistan learned from Germany's experience in real estate management.
On August 27, the State Assets Management Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan (SAMA) held an online seminar on modern approaches to managing state real estate together with representatives of Germany. This was reported by SAMA.
The event was attended by representatives of the German Federal Institute for Real Estate (BImA), the German Federal Ministry of Finance, the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and Indecon Consulting.
The main topic of the seminar was Germany's experience in centralized management of state real estate and practical mechanisms for increasing the efficiency of using state facilities.
DAMA Director Sohibjon Murodov noted that Germany's many years of experience are of great interest for further improving the state property management system in Uzbekistan. He particularly noted the institutional model of the SAMA, as well as the mechanisms for assessing, selling and leasing state real estate.
Representatives of the Federal State Property Agency Jörg Musial and Robert Erfen presented practical approaches to the management of federal real estate in Germany, its effective use and maintenance. The participants also considered mechanisms for transferring objects to centralized management and maintaining digital registers of state assets.
Special attention was also paid to the issue of attracting unused or insufficiently effective state real estate objects into economic circulation.
Head of the Department of the Federal Ministry of Finance of Germany, Christina Klas, highly appreciated the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan in the field of state asset management and privatization. According to her, the country is consistently introducing modern mechanisms for property management and expanding the role of the private sector.
During the seminar, the parties also discussed issues of further developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany in this area. It is planned to exchange experience in the management of state real estate in three stages.
At the first stage, online training seminars will be organized for Agency specialists. Then, German experts will visit Uzbekistan to identify promising areas of cooperation. The third stage involves a practical visit of the Agency delegation to Germany. During the visit, the activities of the Agency and the current mechanisms for managing state real estate will be studied.
Following the seminar, the participants discussed the prospects for further developing the exchange of experience and introducing modern approaches into the state asset management system of Uzbekistan.
